The study involved 12 participants (average age 42.5 years, 11 female), with Long COVID and COVID-19 vaccination histories. Various treatments had been attempted: one person tried cognitive behavioural therapy, eight tried graded exercise, and 11 used pacing to manage symptoms.

Symptoms included fatigue (100%), brain fog (75%), headache (66%), and breathlessness (33%), lasting a median of 9.5 months. At their worst, participants had a median of 0 hours of work/study per week, increasing to 30 hours post-Lightning Process intervention.

All participants found the intervention helpful, with no reported harms.

Asked to rate their recovery as a percentage, where 100% is fully recovered, the median was 85%, with five reporting being fully recovered and 11 participants reporting at least 85% improvement.
