Boosting Recovery: How the Lightning Process is Helping People Overcome Long Covid
A study 1 looked into the cases of two patients with Long Covid (LC) and how the Lightning Process (LP) made a difference to their symptoms.
Long Covid is a condition where people continue to have symptoms like extreme tiredness, shortness of breath, and “brain fog” for weeks or months after having Covid-19. Currently, there are few treatment options, and most care focuses on managing symptoms.
The Lightning Process, which has helped with other chronic conditions like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), is a self-management program based on the research into the connection between the brain, mind and body.
Findings
The research measured levels of energy, mood and wellbeing. It found that after the Lightning Process, both the patients reported feeling better, with improvements in both areas.
These improvements lasted for at least three months after the Lightning Process.
Other studies have found the Lightning Process is both helpful and cost-effective 2 3, and because the Lightning Process can be taken live online, it is easier for people to access, especially during times of social distancing. While the results are promising, more research with more people is needed to confirm if these results can be replicated but they suggest that the Lightning Process could be a useful intervention for the thousands suffering from Long Covid.
