This client took the Lightning Process with Jude Hogarth from Phil’s team and sent a further update 8 weeks after the course. Thank so much for sharing your experience of how debilitating life was with Long Covid and how life has changed now…

What did you take the Lightning Process seminar to change?
I had Long Covid for over a year and for the last seven months, prior to the seminar had been housebound and needing 20 hours of bedrest a day. I was not able to climb the stairs and therefore unable to sleep in my own bed or have a shower/bath. I was unable to take part in any household activities and my daily life consisted largely of resting, getting up for meals and to use the loo, and perhaps a bit of gentle TV (e.g. a nature programme) for an hour in the evening.
What positive changes did you make over the three days of the Lightning Process training?
On day 1 of the training, I stayed up all day without taking a rest. I played two board games with my son in the afternoon after the training had finished. On day 2 I went outside for the first time and took a short walk along the street. On day 3 I went outside again and walked a little further, and I also started doing some exercises for my back.
What positive changes have you made since completing the Lightning Process?
Within 4 weeks of completing the training I have been successful in harnessing neuroplasticity to change my state in a number of ways (e.g. for energy, patience, cheerfulness, pride, trust, and self-kindness) and to shift some life-limiting beliefs. Having not been able to do any of the following things prior to the training, I can now (i.e. 4 weeks after the training): put socks and shoes on, leave the house and walk briskly for 30 minutes, climb the stairs as much as I want, have a bath and shower, sleep in my own bed, stay up all day without a rest, put the bins out, do some cooking and washing up, do at least two hours of computer work including some complex tasks requiring concentration, do strengthening back exercises, play board games and learn new board games, follow a complex TV drama, make video calls, meet a friend out for coffee, take the dog for a walk, put up all the Christmas decorations, and start thinking realistically about a return to work. I feel much more confident and optimistic about the future.”
8 week update…
“8 weeks on from the training and I am pretty much able to participate in all aspects of daily life – cooking, cleaning, walking, exercising, swimming, playing table tennis and so on. I have enjoyed a short trip away to the countryside with my family and I can now plan confidently for the future – a fortnight’s holiday abroad in the summer is booked and I have started applying for full-time jobs with an interview pending.”
