The inspiring story of Nicole Shields who used the Lightning Process to recover from long COVID was published in New Zealand Journal for doctors last week.
Not only did she get well, she went on to win an Olympic silver medal in track cycling at Paris 2024.
You can read the full article here, but here is a brief quote from it:
How does an athlete recover from a seemingly long-term debilitating illness to win an Olympic medal just months later? Nicole found a way.
“The problem for Nicole was that in experiencing long COVID, her body began routinely processing information and producing particular hormones and chemicals – all typical responses. Her body sent signals in response to her brain, which “went along” with them and subsequently retold her body how bad her condition was. Nicole was, like many others, stuck in a feedback loop occurring between her mind, brain and body. The more you stay in these pathways, the stronger and more dominant they become.
What Nicole needed was to actively put a stop to the looping. She enrolled in the Lightning Process – a training which reactivated the curative ability of her mind and body. In short, she got them (her mind, brain and body) talking nicely and usefully to each other again.”
